I have heard and read many times that Padre Pio would throw girls and women out of the confessional for wearing short skirts. But in the confessional the priest cannot see the penitent. If Padre Pio couldn't see the women, how did he know they were wearing short skirts?

He saw them before they got in, and you can look through the screen btw.
He may have been the holiest man of the 20 century, but he was not always right about everything, and some of his guesses were wrong. I have been told many times that people are convinced I am telepathic because I know their secrets before they tell me, but I just use my experience and the wisdom of having the faith. Anyone who is convinced enough of the faith will be able to make good guesses about others. He probably had some gift, but was not always right. Read about his nephew being chastised by him for "dropping out of school." Fact was the kid was expelled because of his epilepsy.

Okay, serious answer. Padre Pio had a number of women who regularly went to him for Confession. So he knew them by their voices and saw them enough to know if they were immodestly dressed. He also had other priests and brothers who more or less kept the worst offenders from entering the church. If I'd waited three days to confess to Padre Pio, only to be barred from the church by some other priest, when I returned in a longer skirt, I would certainly address the matter in my confession. I do believe it is possible that Padre Pio sometimes received knowledge of this sort from the Holy Ghost.

It sad to look at Catholic school girls who are in Catholic newspaper and the skirts are too short and inappropriate.

At the Pro life Rallies, many Catholic school kids wore their uniforms.
Now they wear sloppy street clothes.

I don't know exactly how. God certainly made him aware of more than normal in general, after all, he could read consciences and tell people their past forgotten sins.

It is really terrible, disturbing, and shameful seeing girls in Catholic schools nowadays. The length of their skirts, as well, as their whole countenance is very immodest and improper. Obviously the ones that run these schools as well as the families that support them, are Catholics in name only. I wish they would stop calling themselves Catholics because it is double offensive and give Catholics a bad reputation.

:dancing-banana:In NYC, there are Catholic schools with pants for uniforms for both boys and girls. The "skirts" had become too immodest even for novus ordoites! One example is St. Francis Prep, a high school in Queens. It still maintains an excellent academic standard, but Catholic is not part of it. Both sexes wear beige or navy pants with a white golf shirt or turtle neck top and a navy v-neck cardigan sweater. The girls' skirts, no longer permitted(!) had become a "distraction to the learning process" and locals, mainly Muslims and Orthodox/Hasidic Jєωs, were complaining about being unable to look out their windows while students came and went. The approval of MUSLIMS now calls the shots at a school once RULED by priests and brothers! Separate classes for boys and girls are LONG gone...
