Old Baltimore Catholic churches for sale

It is really sad to see many Catholic Churches in Baltimore, Maryland going up for sale.  I think many were built at the end of the 19th century.

Does anyone know anyone who can by up old churches?  :cowboy:

Several Catholic churches in Baltimore are currently on the market for sale due to a restructuring plan within the Archdiocese of Baltimore. This plan aims to consolidate parishes and streamline operations, leading to the closure of some churches. The Shrine of the Little Flower was recently closed and is now available for purchase. The Archdiocese is also selling other Catholic churches as part of this initiative.

Key Points:
  • Archdiocese Restructuring:
The Archdiocese of Baltimore is undergoing a plan to merge and streamline parishes, resulting in some churches being closed and put up for sale.

[li]Impact of Closure:
The plan aims to allow parishes to focus on their core mission and ministry, while also addressing the financial burden of maintaining aging infrastructure.

[/li]
[li]Specific Examples:
The Shrine of the Little Flower is one example of a church that has been closed and is now on the market, and other Catholic churches are also being sold as part of the Archdiocese's plan.

[/li]
[li]Additional Resources:
You can find more information about this initiative and potential properties on the Archdiocese of Baltimore website, and on sites like LoopNet and Showcase.com. [/li][/list]

What about Bp. Sanborn’s group?  I’m not saying they have the $$$, but perhaps there are people in the area who are interested. If not interested in buying the whole building, maybe items can be salvaged.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I sent an email to Father Bayer.

So, traditional Catholic groups can't seem to buy these churches directly.  I am not sure I understand how it works, but there seems to be a lot of red tape.

It is so sad to see these buildings fall into the hands of people, who just do not care.

Anybody have any other ideas on how to save buildings like this?  Many big cities across the nation are doing the same thing, selling off Catholic Churches.

If there's enough faithful and the building doesn't need major structural repair, then go for it.
