Minneapolis police tell residents to obey criminals and ‘be prepared’ to be robbed

The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) told residents they should “be prepared” to hand over their phones, wallets, and purses to robbers.
The MPD has reported a 46 percent increase in carjackings and a 36 percent increase in robberies compared to this same time last year, according to WCCO.
Police in the city’s Third Precinct alone have received more than 100 reports of robberies and 20 reports of carjackings in just the last month.
Officials are now telling residents to be ready and willing to comply with the demands of criminals in an email sent to Third Precinct residents.
“Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet,” the police said in their email, a copy of which was obtained by Alpha News. The email said citizens should listen to criminals and “do as they say.”
The message warned that “some victims have been maced, dragged, assaulted, and some threatened with a gun.”

They must be in on it!
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,

Go back to whatever country and tribe you came from Chief!

Is the Minneapolis Police Department really this dysfunctional ?

Minnesotans who still have common sense, defend yourselves or the criminals will take your lives too.

I got a different idea.

Think I'll be hanging onto my phone.

Here's how the Jєωιѕн actor William Shatner handles the robbery problem.

Minneapolis police tell residents to obey criminals and ‘be prepared’ to be robbed
This just needs to be repeated enough on the news and the people will obey, and will in turn believe those who do not submit are rebels.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

Sadly, I have family members who think precisely the way the Minneapolis police chief described.  It's OK, though, if we ever have a home invasion, I'm here to protect them, let's just say it won't end well for the perpetrators.  There will be a "homegoing".  Thank God for Castle Doctrine.

The Glock (mine is 19, 9mm) is one of the finer things ever created on this earth.  However, for concealed carry, I prefer this little chihuahua:

A little on the shrimpy side, but it gets the job done, doesn't have that horrible trigger pull that the Ruger LCP does (I sold my LCP for that reason), and conceals very nicely in the pocket on one's khaki shorts.

These riots are proof that an unarmed citizenry only leads to chaos.

A little old lady was upstairs in her house one night and heard someone trying to open the backdoor.  She called 911 and told them there was an intruder.  The dispatch told her to hide in a closet because the cops couldn't get there for 15-20 minutes.  Five seconds later, the dispatch picked up another call.  It was the little old lady again.  She said, "Don't worry about rushing over here, I shot the intruder and i'm safe now."
.
Just 2 minutes later, the old lady's house was surrounded by cop cars, with a helicopter's spotlight hovering overhead.  The detective asked the old lady, "I thought you said you shot somebody?  We can't find a body."  The old lady said, "I thought you said it would take 15-20 minutes to show up."

Minneapolis as a city is fundamentally useless. Inept and frankly dangerous government, neutered police force, rampant crime, too expensive.

The only good thing to do there is to leave.

Don't worry...

UN Troops are coming and they'll make it safe to run FEMA camps there.

MPD is a miserable police department for a lot of reasons, but the article in question is rather exploitative.  It gives the impression that MPD sent out an email to residents of the third precinct, the purpose of which was to tell them to just bow down to criminals, full stop.
.
But the actual email sent out (provided in full in the article) has the purpose of prevention, and it gives quite a few recommendations to citizens to avoid being robbed.  It is true that the email says if you are being robbed you should be prepared to give up what you have, but this is a boilerplate public safety recommendation (obviously its merits are debatable, but there certainly are times when it is better to recede than to fight, and police typically assume the average citizen is not of the mettle and training to effectively and victoriously emerge from a violent ambush).  The recommendations for what to do when you are being robbed make up a small portion of the email.
.
The real story here is that Minneapolis has seen a significant increase in robberies and carjackings since this time last year, and that the increase is occurring in the area that the philo-sodomite Jєωιѕн mayor happily gave up to rioters for kindling.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

It's all right.  Fun to shoot and it gets the job done.  I could shoot this little guy all day.  The Ruger LCP (380ACP), OTOH, is sheer torture to fire.  After 25 rounds, you feel like your hand is about to fall off.  They say "it's not a range gun", but how are you supposed to build proficiency, if you can't take it to the range and shoot it again, and again, and again?  They are basically giving these things away anymore.

But when you shoot a Glock, it just brings home how wonderful and precise human engineering can be, when it's done right.

I can't afford a 1911 or some of the more upmarket guns.  I'm on a budget.
