If we've learned anything in the past two years, things can change very fast.  If Floridians elect someone who is into the mandates, face masks could be ubiquitous overnight in Florida.

When the "Republican" governor of Indiana tried to mandate face masks everywhere in public in Indiana by making it a misdemeanor criminal offense punishable by up to a year in jail, he was only stopped by the State attorney general.  But face masks were everywhere in the cities.  Only in the rural areas were face masks not used by everyone.
Thanks for this.  This is very important to know when considering our future.  I don't know anything about terms or anything.  Do you or anyone know how long governor terms run or how long DeSantis is definitely going to be governor?  Texas I imagine is more likely to stay "conservative" than Florida which can flip either way at anytime.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  I'm seek all the accurate answers I can get right now.

It never ends, if you capitulate one bit.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks as I do.

Up to 8 years, but he could take a term off and run for another 8 years. Or they even change the Constitution to remove term limits, who knows?

How long he's governor depends on his presidential run.

4 years. How long he's governor depends on his presidential run.
So if he didn't run for President it would be until 2024 anyway?  And Florida is a borderline state anyway isn't it?  It has been the greatest convids state in the country.  You would think the citizens would like freedom.  I think he would make a better president than Trump.  But the best chance for some improvement would be a Trump DeSantis ticket I think.  Then DeSantis can get elected for 8 years after 2028.  The Republican party is on the verge on destroying itself because it is filled with cowardly RINO's.  Not to mention that the vast majority of them think it is okay to kill some babies some times.  The perfect formula for the democrats to complete this countries flush down the toilet with no chance of ever recovering again.

If he doesn't run for president (or runs and doesn't win, etc.), he would be governor until 2026. The governor's election is this November; Democrats just had the Florida primary last week.
