  • Here in south central Texas it only reached 79; we turned our air conditioning off yesterday, as it went down to 59 last night.

Every night before that, it was 70 or more with high humidity.

The winds are now coming from the north -- no wonder it's nice out! It's absolutely beautiful out today.

But wow! L.A. is getting positively cooked today.

Los Angeles' Hottest Day On Record
    by Chris Dolce, Meteorologist
High-pressure aloft is bringing searing heat to Southern California.

Los Angeles hit 113 degrees on Monday making it their hottest temperature ever recorded since records began in 1877.  This also beat the daily record high set in 1963 by seven degrees.

Temperatures have only been 110 degrees or higher three other times in L.A.

Luckily this burst of heat will not stick around too long.  After a hot Tuesday with highs likely in the 90s, temperatures are expected to trend downward.

  • Maybe a foretaste of Hell will give them pause and be the cause of many conversions including the one and only Cardinal M himself!

You read my mind. I wouldnt be surprised if LA baked or burned in the dead of winter... I know a lot of places will during the 3Days of Darkness.

A lot of places, as in everywhere! I hope I'm inside somewhere when it all comes down. Or already dead, and watching the whole thing on the widescreen TV over the bar in Purgatory, where I'll undoubtedly be for a good long while...

Yes, I'm enrolled in the brown scapular and I say the rosary every day. I'm still a crappy excuse for a Catholic, though...

  • It never ceases to puzzle me how LA is not smote with the Almighty Wrath of God!

But all it takes is a few holy souls sometimes, I am told.

I recall reading a few yrs back in my copy of Gilbert magazine, that Dale Alquest was giving a report of driving up and down CA coast, he noted that too-that the hx of and presense still, of Catholic missions was likely the only thing that has saved CA from destruction, that small residue....

well put, as I have often thought this of myself too, hey, the bar in Purgatory-you figure we would get free drinks, but, they would not numb the suffering and likely, would turn out tasteless??

  • The only thing that you'll be watching on that wide-screened television in Purgatory is a continual replay of your entire life.   :scared2:

  • The weather today in Conroe, near Matthew felt just like
California weather. California I left forever in 2007.
I was able to walk three miles without thirst, and sweat.
When I lived in California for about 50 years, there was
no need for air condition, because it seldom got very hot.

I'd rather witness the horror show rather than watch it on a screen. Then again, I think I'd only be listening to it because if I look outside while it's going on I will surely die like Lot's wife by seeing the justice of God. But Im determined to survive it because I know that it's the death blow to the enemies of God and the opportunity for us to play a game of (as the SEALS like to say) "sweep and clean" when it's over.

  • Plus, the 3Days of Darkness will be the time when all of nature will revolt against it's ungodly stewards, and will shout for all men to hear "Who is like unto God?".

The drinks are free but they only have lite beer and wine coolers. And at your left elbow is DevotedKnuckles from Fisheaters forum and at your right is "Fr." Hans Kung. (He slipped in by converting to Catholicism on his deathbed.)

I can live with the cooler, but being Purgatory I doubt it has sweet vino inside... I bet it's dry.  :barf:
