What do you want to bet that somewhere, some people would like to make this the new flag of the United States?  Possibly omit the date on the fly of the flag, or possibly not?

Don't get me wrong, I am all in favor of black people celebrating having been freed from slavery.  I celebrate it myself --- not the day, necessarily, but the fact.  What would be the alternative?  Wishing they hadn't been freed?  Where would be the support in Catholic social teaching for that stance?

Depending on your point of view, the flag could be interpreted as looking a little Marxy, but no more so than the flag of Arizona.

I was doing a DuckDuckgo search, and traced it to the original website, but that particular flag doesnt exist.
So I did more searching and found another that looks just as good methinks. Couple places thus far :cowboy:

You have more historical choices in the US flag wise than in Canada. I abhor the present Canuck flag, and I can no longer fly the traditional Red Ensign, being a secessionist :cowboy:
I would love to fly other flags, if I had my own home but such is not the case. :'(
A flag with the seal of St Benedict would be great.

  •                         The Last Confederate Battle flag

The Congress of the Confederate States of America do enact that the flag of the Confederate States shall be as follows: The width two-thirds of its length, with the union (now used as the battle flag) to be in width three-fifths of the width of the flag, and so proportioned as to leave the length of the field on the side of the union twice the width of the field below; is to have the ground red and a blue saltin thereon, bordered with white and emblazoned mullets or five-pointed stars, corresponding in numbers of that of the Confederate States, the field to be white, except the outer half from the union, to be a red bar extending the width of the flag.”

Using classic symbolism, Rogers described the flag’s white field symbolized purity and innocence, and the red fortitude and courage. The cross of St. Andrew indicated descent from British lineage, while the red bar was taken from the French flag, as many other Southerners were descended from French lineage.

Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

The Red Ensign was a sharp-looking flag.  Once I was driving on Ontario 17 east of Ottawa and saw someone flying the Union Jack from their front porch.  Not the Maple Leaf Flag, not the Red Ensign, but the Union Jack.  Is that common in Canada?

  • According to the book, “Star Spangled Heresy”, there’s a masonic origin to the “Don’t Tread On Me Snake”.

Ben Franklin was well aware of it.

Can you please elaborate on this?  The only person I know who treads on a snake is Our Lady, which is a good thing, so I have often wondered about the idea behind that “Don’t Tread On Me Snake”.  I would like to know its true origin/the idea behind it.  (If it's not the devil telling Our Lady not to tread on him.)

  • This get the History Of the Emancipation Proclamation and Juneteenth Straight. This use to be taught in the
schools up to the 1960's when the revolution begun that is coming to past in our day.
The Emancipation Proclamation only freed the slaves in the South. It did not touch slave states in the North
and areas in the South overrun by the Northern Army.
The slave states in the North were Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The slaves in these
states had to wait until the passage of the 13th admendment to the Constitution.
Juneteenth only affected Galveston-Houston, Texas. Juneteenth is a state holiday in Texas.
Robert E Lee freed all his slaves before the start of the hostilities between the North and the South.
U.S. Grant the Union General and President of the United States waited until the passage of the 13th
admendment to the constitution to free his slaves.
