What an idiot -- deciding to carjack vehicles in the middle of Texas, where it's legal to carry arms in various ways. We have Castle Doctrine, and it's easy to own and carry a weapon. Only a low-IQ illegal wouldn't know the stereotypes about Texas. And those stereotypes are highly true!
If you MUST be a burglar, robber, carjacker, etc. don't do it in Texas, unless you have a death wish. You're playing Russian Roulette with 3 or 4 bullets loaded.
