Gas Crisis Prediction Coming True
« on: May 06, 2026, 06:00:21 PM »
I have been calling for "it's going to be worse than ever" since the beginning of the recent attacks on Iran.

After all, even though we've had $4 and $5 gas in recent memory, I can't imagine why nor do I remember what the "excuse" was.
The Strait of Hormuz, and all the world's oil production, was completely on-line and the supply chain was 100% operational!

Now, we have a near-total closure with no end in sight, the world still completely dependent on oil but now a huge % of the oil has been taken off the market.
Worse, much of the oil infrastructure has been damaged/destroyed, and it will be years before it's repaired!

Worst of all, the current Middle East conflict (WW3?) is nowhere NEAR over, but rather seems to be just beginning. If the conflict ended tomorrow, it would take years to repair the damage (physical and economic). But the war is absolutely NOT going to end tomorrow.

Furthermore, Russia has lost some oil production capacity in the past months, as Ukraine has been attacking them with long-range drones (courtesy Starlink and NATO intel as to where to hit) Sure we don't get our oil from Russia, but someone else does. And now that someone else is going to compete for OUR oil.

Long story short, we're a GLOBAL ECONOMY for better or worse, and when part of the world suffers, we all suffer. The price goes up and down for ALL.

This morning I left on an errand, and gas was $3.86 at the cheapest gas station. On the way home, it had already risen to $3.99 at the same gas station!
But that's the absolute cheapest wholesale gas station. Most stations are $4.10 or $4.20 right now.
My part of Texas is usually a bit below the national average. I can only imagine what more expensive parts of the country are paying.

In my midwest town gas has been $5 a gallon for a week now but it is unlikely to change people's car centered
lifestyle/mobility.
It's just another indignity, another scam, another insult in a long history of abuse upon the population by the elite.
There will be grumbling and then people will adjust to it, like they have to all the cultural filth that has been
shoved down their throats for decades.
With the aristocracy gone in Western nations there are no more guardians of taste, it's a never ending quest to
the lowest common denominator in music, art, cinema, literature, etc.
And the proles, they just gobble it up, insatiably demand more marvel movies, Kardashians, sleazy celebrity gossip, ball games.
In my town I see so many young White men driving pick up trucks that cost $80-100k
They are immaculate, likely never used for anything work related. It's unlikely they can afford them but they feel they
need to have them because they happen to be the cool thing. They will make the huge monthly payment, the insurance and
expensive gas because they don't have a wife or kids to support. Their generation isn't getting married.
If the covid lockdowns and jab didn't make them question the system then a couple more dollars for gas certainly won't

Gas in Canada has always been more expensive than the US, even compared to the inflated prices in the US now. And Canada has oil but the government doesn't want to build the pipeline! The Alberta separatism movement has been growing.

The gas prices where I’m at are getting unaffordable. It’s like there’s no end in sight.

I think there were refinery fires, and shipping routes shut down including a stuck ship. Maybe some strikes too. I still have canned gas from back when premium was $5.75, and my prices are similar to yours if not a little more.
