That's cheaper than they are here... probably because you live in the same state as the factory.
Thing is, you get what you pay for.
These shoes have inserts (at least the ones I have do) that you can take out and wash, and you let them dry out for a day or so-- they're like brand new shoes. (Especially for people like me who just don't like socks.)
They go with everything. I don't have this pair or that pair of shoes sitting around. I have two pairs that I rotate and wear all the time. Yes it may cost 10 times what a Chinese pair of shoes cost, but I don't have a bazillion shoes sitting around either. When they do get worn out, I still wear them when I'm doing projects, et cetera. There was only one pair that was unwearable after I wore them out so much. First pair... bought them 7-8 years ago.
They're worth the money, and you're not putting most of your money into paying a fat cat executive. You're paying for the nice quality materials, the wonderful sewing they do to make them a strong pair of shoes, and the people that feed their families that work at the plant. I find the trade off far better.
Sure you won't be able to buy a pair of shoes as often, but hey, they're nice shoes, and they're very comfortable, and they're long lived and don't fall apart after you've worn them twice or three times.
