Father Voigt recommended a pretty good model of filter. I will have to ask him which one he recommended, as I forgot the name, but it was labeled a "Kangen Water Filter."

  • I appreciate it Manuel.  Was it something that simply attaches/mounts to the faucet?

  • It hooks up to the faucet, and the water goes through a box, which sits on the counter. The water is filtered through, and then is poured through the machine. You can add a hose, to fill up five gallon tanks. Father Voigt bought one for the seminary in Boston, so the seminarians and priests can have good, filtered water, free of contaminants.

I sent Father an email about which model he purchased. I will post the information as soon as I get it. God bless.

  • Our water comes from a river and is heavily chlorinated.
We use an Instapur (from Walmart or any hardware store) attached to the tap.  It eliminates all chlorine smell.  It also seems to eliminate calcium build up as the dog's water dish testifies.
We then put it through our AquaRain water purifier (from the tap not the dog's water dish)

Don't forget a filter for your shower.

  • Faucet mounted ones are lame. They only last a week before it's noticeable they don't filter very well, or, what's worse, actually add accuмulated contaminants to the water. Under-the-sink ones are better, and a whole reverse osmosis system is best.

  • We have a Berkey Imperial. They claim it can filter lake, stream and pond water in the event of an emergency. Salt water will ruin the filters.
