  • My Mum lost her job in 2010. She have tried PTC, PTR (with my help, too), surfbars, forex, etc., but they all failed (we could get only a few money on an Aurora site, this was mainly by not getting referreds). Shortly after becoming unemployed, she called a television fortune-teller and she was told that she'd get her money back in 7 months, but it failed. Then she tried to order a money energy, much to my dismay. And note that I was a NO when she did this. Currently she is trying to win the lottery. She have got a supplementary work as a cleaner, but it ended. She have been promoted to an administrator post at the police, but she still couldn't get to work. She is cleaning at a house at Fridays, but that's not enough for me. First, I want to move to a Traditionalist Church, but our house is pretty in debt, so I'll be chained in Bogusville. So, I need to travel, but school just ruins everything. Plus, I want to be homeschooled to finish high school early and to get a work to get money to college. Plus, she wouldn't like traveling all the time, and now she caught some germ (I don't know whether is it flu). Too bad that panhandling is illegal in Hungary.
So, thanks to the debt, the school and the flu, I can't get to TLM. I if were a fugitive, it would be easier since I could travel for free. So, I need something that I could use to get some Jesus.

  • I am sorry to hear about your difficult financial situation, Pelly. Do you have any other family except your Mum?

I must say that I hardly understand your and her attempts to gain an income, not for your very good English, but for your internet(?) and other jargon, e.g. I had to look up panhandling.

But I do know that there is increasing poverty and I do not see how this is going to change. We have to make the best of our situation, which can be a means of defeat or of growing in strength and virtue.

Prayers for your Mum to find strength in adversity, but most of all to come to faith.

Do you know anyone else at all who belongs to tradition? Pray to be led to somebody who can help you spiritually in your location. God will amswer your prayers. He knows your heart.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • I know the economy isn't the greatest these days, but from your post I get the impression that your mom is slothful.  Proverbs says slothfulness leads to poverty.  It also says the slothful are afraid of work.  As I understand it, slothfulness is the result of lots of little soft choices/surrenders, that sort of add up to bad habits.  The contrary virtue is diligence.

They say, a slothful person looks just like a diligent person.  You can't tell them apart, until you get to know them.

Also, the slothful person is frustrated by their slothfulness, since it prevents them from getting what they want.  These frustrations can lead to other bad habits too.

To me it seems like it's kind of an escape from life or "running away."

They say, you can't change anyone.  So, I think you should forgive her and love her anyway.  It is best not to become a nag or busy body, where your mom is concerned.  Also, remember to honor her as best you can, without giving up too much on your own values.  In the meantime, you can get books on traditional catholicism (my catholic faith is the sspx's standard book for catechism and is available for sale at angelus press, otherwise you can access the old baltimore chatechism on line for free, as well as several other older catechisms, but if you can find a way to get the book, it is quite good, also "my daily bread" is a popular one for folks under stress and perhaps in need of some religious development and it is cheap) and you can watch and learn the traditional mass performed on video.

  • Hmmm . . . if he has no money and his Mum has no income, how can he buy books off the internet . . . silly suggestion. . .  I would suggest that  he contact the nearest SSPX priest to request the necessary Faith books, including but not limited to the catechism. The reason for his English is that he lives in Eastern Europe.  The seed is obviously sown and now Mary will come to his aid.
Why jump to the sloth conclusion wh/ is further demeaning to Pelley.

        Pray.

I appreciate sensitivity, but you seem to be taking it too far.

She seems slothful because, for one, she's looking for magical ways to make money.

As far as the books are concerned, if you want to make that kind of suggestion it's fine with me, but I see no good reason to criticize me for suggesting she get some good books.  Actually, I don't think it's any of your business, which is to say, I think you're being a busy body.  Although, I do think I've liked some of your other posts, this side of you I find obnoxious, but no big deal.  I'm sure I can be much worse.

    God Bless

  • And you think that I'm a male? Some relative said that my Mum doesn't want to work.

LOL I can sympathize with this...
You seem like a sweet girl Pelly, I'll make sure to keep you and your mum in my prayers.

  • Pelly can you contact the closest trad priests and see if one is willing to come to you? They may travel your way or take a special trip to meet you. At get in contact with one. Things are really hard sometimes but try to stay positive.
I would caution you from travelling a long distance like that alone as a young single women using public transportation.

Why 2 thumbs down? Someone does not like me on CI. My comment does not deserve thumbs down. What is the reason for this?

  • Since weekly Mass is not possible due to the school, I need a way to get Jesus somehow.
