I've read it in a few books. If I remember correctly, he felt that "God didn't always provide" when married couples trusted in Divine Providence instead of spacing births. I think either one of his brothers or sisters had about ten children and had a very hard time making ends meet. He was for the birth control pill.

Let me try to remember the book(s) I read this in. I'll let you know when (and if) I do.

There's a lot of information on his website. Did you read how they sent EWTN a complete dossier on Wuerl and his "unorthodox" activities and cover-ups, only to be told by EWTN that their job was only to "evangelize"?
