The modern (2020) Democratic party has been taken over and/or morphed into a Communist party.

This is not your classic "Democratic" party -- a bit lighter on criminals, favoring big government, more welfare, and higher taxes. That's nothing. That's a legit choice which wouldn't destroy America. What today's "Democrats" want is

Open borders
No Borders! No Wall! No USA at all!
Permanent power grab - make DC and Puerto Rico a state, stack the Supreme Court, etc.
Tear down all historical figures, erase/rewrite history
Ban gasoline, air travel, meat, cows ("Green New Deal")
Lockdown, move everyone into compact cities
Complete loss of freedoms (religion, speech, freedom of movement, freedom to live where you want, freedom to raise your children, freedom to choose family size, etc.)
24/7 surveillance
