I find it more likely they'll turn off the lights for a few days then turn them back on and threaten. A hard grid-down scenario seems unlikely and the unrest will spiral too hard even after 2 or 3 days. I do think that the brownouts are going to get worse. There's even a term that we're seeing from South Africa in Cali: Load Shedding. There are brownout apps telling you when the power will be on and off etc, expect that here in TX, Cali, OR and WA.
At this point I don't even think it's worth really preparing in the city and you have to get out and have a plan and a place for your family. Reading the EMP commission reports is an eye opener for anyone, saying 90+% of Americans will be dead after mere months in an extended grid-down scenario. Even if the threat isn't an EMP Matthew's on the money: They can use a cyber attack to destroy parts that are now exclusively made in China and have long leads. I hope everyone on here has plans.
