I think the most important requirement for Concealed Carry insurance is to make sure that it is NOT a reimbursement policy. Make sure they cover all the expenses up-front (bail, retainer, etc.). If you are involved in an incident you could drop $40k before you even get to court, much more if you need expert witnesses.
In part I chose my carrier because I liked a particular lawyer that was on an insurance plan. He was not just "experienced," but successful and is well connected in our jurisdiction. He's a fighter and I keep his card with my CC insurance card—just in case.
