Cathinfo Appreciation

  • Thank you Matthew for having a forum that allows honest and open discussion on topics (Feeneyism, geocentrism, race issues, culture, etc) that have no place on other Catholic forums such as Suscipe Domine.

I also appreciate that the forum is moderated based on universal guidelines of the faith and yet allows for variant types of Traditional Catholics.

I like Cathinfo quite a bit and from what little time I have been here, I think most of the posters are of good will regardless of differences of opinion on ecclesiology as it relates to the crisis and minor issues of the faith (for the most part).

  • How come there’s no threads like this coming from Resistance members?
Wait, how many Resistance members are still active on CI?
To ask the question is to answer it.

Put the bottle down and go kick the dog.

Why are you always the source of division on this forum when we should all be trying to unite?

Have you even glanced at the thread: Unity is important - even among Trad Catholics. I suggest you go read it and leave Matthew alone.

  • Shill’s first post under new name.
    Yawn...

You have no idea how much time, effort and money goes into running an online forum. But when did you ever thank Matthew? Answer: not once. Every other post of yours is a complaint about something or someone. If you don’t get your way you throw your toys out of the pram. Grow up.

  • I appreciate this forum too. Every other one I've spent time on is dominated by modernists posing as traditionalists (entirely out of ignorance), so it's good to have a forum which permits open discussion (and heated arguments) surrounding the state of the Church.
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

  • I love this forum and probably spend way too much time here. There's a really cool forum called the 24-hour campfire. I've always thought this place is like a 24-hour trad-chapel donut room. Every trad chapel in the world has a (what I called when I was a little kid) a "donut room" because that is where people hang out and eat donuts after Mass on Sunday. The room is called different things in different places, but the concept is universal and identical: a place where trads can hang out after Mass and talk about what trads talk about. Except that unfortunately that precious time people have connecting with other trads is only possible on Sunday after Mass.
    .
Enter CathInfo. With this forum, I can always feel like I am in the donut room of my chapel after Mass talking with the same sorts of people I have at my chapel, except that it goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! About the same sorts of things I would be talking about with my fellow in-person trads.
    .
Thank you, Matthew, for this 24-hour donut room.

  • Yes, thank you, Matthew, from one more impoverished. We have no donuts, no donut room, no church.

Thank you, Matthew.  This is a wonderful place to find support and to learn.

I exposed AB Vigano's public meetings with Crowleyan Satanist Dugin so I ask protection on myself family friends priest, under the Blood of Jesus Christ and mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary! If harm comes to any of us may that embolden the faithful to speak out all the more so Catholics are not deceived.

  • I'm glad so many appreciate the forum.

I called CathInfo a Coffee-and-Donuts-Hall many years ago; that's pretty much what it is. An online version of that. You really have to have the same "expectations" that you would have with any group of human beings. Expect to find some imperfections, just for starters!

You'll find ALL types of trads -- the educated and ignorant, the young and old, the expert and beginner, the harsh and the mild. Also the weird, the gullible, the hothead, the savant, the nerd -- you name it. We've even had drunk(s) here in the past. And, of course, you find pretty much the whole spectrum of opinions on the Crisis in the Church. The one requirement: you can't condemn or anathematize others, since no one has the right to do so. Not talking about insults or criticism; that's just rhetoric and having strong beliefs. I'm talking about denying others their Catholicism just because they disagree with you on the Crisis in the Church, which, last time I checked, Jesus Christ hasn't explicitly chimed in on yet. No one has the certainty OR authority with which to bind consciences or condemn others.

  • Result of my deleted anti-sede thread.

Sean, I really hate to disagree with you, but your level of aversion to Sedevacantists puts you at odds with +Williamson and probably +Lefebvre as well. You seem to lack these prelates' charity, compassion, and mercy towards the lost sheep (Catholics) who are trying their best to survive in this time of unprecedented crisis and confusion (i.e., a level never before seen in the Church, from 34 AD to the present!)

    Bishop Williamson:

    Quote
I don't myself believe that sedevacantism is true, but I do understand those people who are sedevacantists, moderate ones, not the extreme ones, but the moderate ones I do understand.  They would lose their Catholic faith if they had to believe that Pope Francis is a Catholic pope.  They can't believe it.  They just can't believe it, and they've got no other way out of what looks like a trap than to deny that he's pope.  There are other ways out of it; again, we need not go into that now.

    That is my position.

You, on the other hand, seem to get bent out of shape at their very existence. They really bother you on some deep level.

  • I too agree I appreciate the way this forum runs.

The sad part is, seeing people come and go sometimes, but that is the way it is on the internet.
I also come and go!  You may or may not realize it, but I feel my time here on earth is almost over, not quite yet, I know I still have a few years left.

God is not finished with me yet, sometimes my insights are growing very vivid and I don't know why!

I love life and have had a very good life.  My non-Catholic husband back in the '80s would sit and listen to me complain as I was led into the Novus ordo.  I would go to church and he would sit and read the paper.  One day when I came home from a NO mass, he handed me a clipping he tore out of the paper. It was about a priest who was coming to our area to explain why the changes in the Catholic church.
Things like this don't happen to me, never, but I had this strange force come over me, pushing me strongly to go to the lecture.

It was about the great apostasy and sedevacantism. I knew instantly it was true.  For one thing, in Catholic school back in the late '40s early 50's the old, elderly nuns teaching there in Chicago, were already warning us, that we are the generation that would see the Mass taken away from us.

Sorry, I didn't know I would be writing a book about my story! However, I must end by telling you my husband died but before he died he was baptized and died united to the Church Christ founded.  He even had the apostolic blessing hours before his death and prayed the name of Jesus at the proper time during that blessing. I believe he was given this great grace because he brought me back to the church resulting in both my parents dying united to His Faith, plus my children are also Traditionalists.  "By their fruits, you will know them."

Perhaps Matthew might start a thread where we could all go and write our journey to Tradition.  Did I say thank you, Matthew!   ♫

    Please pray for my soul.

To ask the question is to answer it.
I am of the Resistance, with Father Girouard and His Excellency +Williamson as my pastoral and doctrinal go to prelates.
I attend or am attended for sick calls by the SSpX from our mission just outside the crappie-Tal of the still federally enslaved province of Alberta. As long as the priests are valid, and a certain line is not crossed. They remain my only source of valid sacraments.

  • Thank you to Mathew and Mater for Cathinfo.
Thank you to everyone on here too.  It has been a great source of Catholic resources and news.  It has helped us to grow in our Catholic Faith.  There are many good and holy clergy, religious and laity within the SSPX and other trad groups even within novus Ordo.  ( our enemies need prayers for conversion back to serving and loving God.

Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever!
May God bless you and keep you

Myrna...with RomanCatholic1953 disappearing, it's got me thinking.  Is there someone who can contact Matthew/Cathinfo if something were to happen to you?
