I've learned that milk contains growth hormons (and so does chickens), and Vegies have pesticides. Please buy organic whenever possible. You could get cancer!!!

(good thing my steaks don't affect me, I'm a lion!)

It never hurts to be 1% self-sufficient.

Then shoot for 2% -- you get the idea.

You don't want to be starving to death because of a 2-day power outage. That would be pathetic.

But such would be the fate of a LOT of people today. Some people barely have 1 week of food on hand, nevermind 6 months or a year. And who has a propane stove or solar oven (or at least charcoal grill with a few bags of charcoal) to cook their food during an extended crisis?
