If you didn't know already, all Borders locations are closing. This is no surprise to me, but it is disappointing. Locally, we have a Borders about 35 minutes from our home. We don't visit nearly as often as when we lived a mere 10 minutes away, but I've never been in that store when it wasn't crowded. I'm sure if it weren't part of a nation-wide chain, it would have had no problems staying in business. But, I guess for some reason it isn't easy to drop the stores which don't perform to save the ones that do.
Now, when we lost our LinensNThings a BedBath&Beyond quickly moved in to it's old location, so maybe all this really means is that we'll be getting a Barnes & Noble here soon.
Or, Amazon will drive them both out of business.
