I sense a plot by government to collapse the civilian police force by letting things get so out of hand, that people will beg for military intervention (as the conservatives/republicrats are already calling for).

Then, once military policing becomes the new normal, it will be much easier to disarm the armed populace (or wipe them out, if need be).

They can also man the vaccination stations and POW camps, filled with dissenters and anti-vaxers, who will be designated enemies of the state and threats to public health.

If you aren’t talking to friends, relatives, and parishioners about forming “mutual support groups” by now, your days may be numbered.
