Up here in southeast WA (Tri-Cities) we've had several days of single digits / low teens Fahrenheit temperatures, with some wind chill. It was up into the 20's today (14 degrees F right now at 9 PM Pacific) which usually means some precipitation. Snow is expected tonight, 3 - 5 inches, and people are advised to be prepared for school closures and not to go out if they really don't need to. Our freight typically comes over one of 3 Cascade Mountain passes or along the Columbia River Gorge, all routes easily shut down by snow during the winter. I was at Costco this afternoon (the kind of warehouse shop people would go to if they really wanted to hoard). LOTS and LOTS of everything available: paper towels, TP, hamburger, whole chickens, every kind of meat both fresh and frozen, milk, butter, eggs, batteries, just everything imaginable.
I feel very fortunate to live in the Pacific Northwest, and evidently we don't have many hoarders here.
