  • God sends the man to the woman, not the woman to the man.

The man is the active agent.

    You should know better Laddy.

A single man should pray rather that God helps HIM to find her, not for her to find him.
How do you figure?  Most men need a hint from a woman to pursue her.  Maybe you are only speaking about choleric men?

  • I find it 'interesting' she uses the word "mortified", and calls her sister a witness.

In essence a man who she wasn't interested in asking for her number was 'death' for her.. rather than appreciate the attempt and be done with it she posts about it online, it's very rude and disrespectful, it takes a lot of courage to ask a girl for her number, not to mention a lot of guys fear asking girls out nowdays due to them posting and mocking/insulting them online... which is what she did. :fryingpan:

That's really the issue here not that she rejected someone she wasn't interested in.
Society has lost all the social etiquette on how people couple up (for lack of a better term.)  If the attraction isn't instant, they don't even try.  I wish I knew how we change this.

I think you’re right. Sometimes in friendships first impressions are very wrong so same with meeting potential spouses. Unless the man was aggressive or rude I don’t know why this woman was ‘mortified’ a man asked for her number!?

I agree Gray. A certain type of man may need a few hints that a woman is interested. My grandmother told me in those days women used to drop something in the hope a man they liked would pick it up and start talking to them!!

I avoided my husband for a whole year.  He was younger and kind of awkward. After I got to know him better, I started to like him.  It took a friend suggesting a relationship to get the ball rolling. We weren't Catholic, I had fallen away from the Faith and he was Methodist.  He is the one who started looking for Truth and now we have be Traditional Catholic for 24 years.  God knows what he is doing, we just need to be patient and listen.

  •  It's well known that when women hang out together, they regularly talk this same kind of trash, even about their own husbands.
Not so. None of the women I know (and this includes women who are NO or Prots) say anything negative about their husbands. It would be trashy.

I agree. One does not have to have an attraction to someone in order to have a friendship. I've seen people find a spouse through friendships -- friends have friends.

I don’t say negative stuff about my husband to anyone ever. If I have an issue with something he’s doing I’ll tell HIM privately.

However unfortunately I HAVE heard women talking together criticising their husbands. Usually women who are not religious, church going Catholics or Protestants not so much….

It’s not all about the women being bad…one husband I know of refused to have any more children after the first one because he wanted his wife to earn money and not have anymore maternity leave 😳😳😳😢😢😢😢
When people lose God, they lose all sense of what it means to be a family and just care about externals (car, house etc)….
