  • My comp w/ Windows XP/ Home is telling me that an addon( Java TM something or other-- it disappeared b4 I could write down the whole thing) is a stability or security prob.

    Does anyone know where I might find this in order to delete it? Thanks--r

  • It will be in your installed applications list in the add/remove windows components.

    Java is a security risk but only if you don't have a firewall or run strange software, in which case ALL software becomes a security risk. Ensure you have the latest version of Java installed, and it should not be a problem.

    If you are worried about security, don't use Windows.

  • I would go to windows update and download any security updates and a new version of Java.
