Usual suspect getting evicted while loading up their PS5 in their 95 thousand dollar brand new Land Rover.
So ... I had a family member working behind the counter at a gas station. There was a certain lady (I won't mention the race) that everyone hoped would go to a different register, since she always took an inordinate amount of time, shopping mostly for garbage (that you can get at such a place), and at highly inflated prices. So, another reason for her delays is that very often the first EBT card, or the first 2 or 3, that she had in her possession, did not work, either because they had no balance left or she couldn't recall the PIN, etc. ... and she then eventually walked out having purchased hundreds of dollars of overpriced garbage, evidently not money-conscious enough (since it wasn't her money) to take the effort to go to a grocery store and have to walk around (she was also rather large) and spend the time finding all these items (spread out more) at almost half the cost. So, at one point, after she filled about 20 bags with junk, this relative offered (as a courtesy) to help take the bags to her car. He walks outside and ... puts the bags in a practically-brand-new easily $100,000 Cadillac SUV. 100% true story. Meanwhile an old Caucasian guy at the same store, closing in on 80, he had to work there, he said, because he had medical bills to pay off, and when he applied for EBT, he was turned down because he owned an old beater car worth about $5K, and that was considered too much of an asset to qualify for EBT, and he needed the car, including so he could go to work.
