And all I came in here looking for was possible suggestions of morally acceptable pc games (I have been itching to play one again, but all the titles I used to like are evil).

Buy a Wii.  With that, you can get the Homebrew Channel, which means that you can run native code on your Wii!!  Lots of fun applications, such as Google Earth.  Yes, see your own home from outer space on your own television!  Great way to impress your friends and neighbors!!  Other great (and family friendly) games include Chess (which took me 40 or so attempts to beat) and Circle the Cat -- cat wants out, try to block its path.

I was thinking more along the lines of a PC game, since I already have a PC, and would only have to buy the game.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

If you make an exception of war and combat, you could get Rome Total War and get the expansion pack Barbarian Invasion. If your looking for shoot-em-ups you could get Call of Duty. Some good strategy games are Europa Universalis 2 (might want to check out the 3rd edition though), Crusader States, Starcraft, and I think any of the Lord of the Rings PC games (though I find the books more edifying).

The 'War and Warriors: Joan of Arc'; game by Enlight is also very good, even has Catholic spirituality in it, although, it is downplayed.  Software is buggy, and no update was ever released.  Definitely playeable, though.  Need Vista patch to play due to copyright protection.
