  • We got blasted yesterday and today, a huge, huge storm.  Not sure how the new eco-green vehicles are going to handle 4-wheel drive.  I watched several rear-wheel cars and vans spin and slide their way around town, sometimes going nowhere over the course of 5 minutes.  Ah, the sweet smell of burnt rubber!  Fortunately, our one car has all-wheel drive, but I still manage to get stuck but not as much.  Always gotten out, though.

  • As a Canadian joked,

"A real Canadian would know this is a fake: when the snow starts falling here, the cops use snow mobiles and polar bears to run down crooks."

Seriously, though, I believe it was taken from a commercial.

    But it's still funny!

Everything in Iowa City is grounded, it probably won't clear till tonight.

I don't think I would run very far if I saw a polar bear tearing down the street to trample me.

You live in Iowa City?  Small world, I live in Cedar Rapids.  The Blizzard Warning ends at Midnight tonight, but I doubt that the plows will have everything cleared by tomorrow (Thursday), so the kids will probably be home again.  Glad that I am unemployed!  (Well, not really...)
