Why Boys Should NOT Wash Dishes
« on: February 02, 2013, 03:47:31 PM »
I was serving food at a company open house and I went to see if the boys wanted help washing dishes.  I walk into this shed and they are standing in the middle of it with a hose and a rag washing the dishes over a drain vent in the floor.  And this floor was utterly disgusting, there were rocks, mud, oil, and who knows what else all over it.  They then had me a paper towl to dry these "clean" dishes and some of them still had food on them!   Do any of you guys on here wash dishes like this?

No, actually people have been known to mistake my pre-rinsed dishes -- those sitting in the dishwasher waiting to be cleaned -- for clean ones!

I only use the dishwasher to "cut the grease" in a bulk/efficient manner, as well as sanitize the dishes.

It really depends on one's personality. Some guys are way cleaner than some ladies.

Of course not. The boys you speak of sound like a bunch of beasts. Washing the dishes was my favorite thing to do at my old job, as I was alone most of the time and could say prayers while I worked. I made sure all of those dishes were spotless, as that's how I would have liked them if I ordered food there.

I hope you smashed a dish or two over each of their heads.

Oh goodness. That is gross!

I know quite a few men who have no idea when it comes to washing dishes. Sadly, I know a few girls that have no clue as well.

Reminds me of a time when my dad decided to be nice to my mom when she was sick. He loaded the dishwasher and started it. He didn't know there was a difference between dishwasher soap and regular dish soap, and he squeezed a bunch of regular dishsoap in there, pushed the button and left. 20 minutes later he came back and to his astonishment there were mounds and mounds of bubbles barreling out of the dishwasher. Nearly the whole kitchen was filled with suds up to the knee. Poor guy. Then he had to clean it all up. :(

That's awful but at the same time really funny!
