Does anyone remember? Conspiracy theorists or "whack jobs" used to be the ones trying to convince people to AVOID this or that, FEAR this or that. The whole tinfoil hat meme was about blocking some kind of waves from entering their brain. My point: the fringe lunatics were supposed to be the ones spreading fear, while the nay-sayers (the vast majority of the population) ignored them and went on about their life -- with no bad consequences of course, since the fringe lunatics were wrong.

But today, it's the "fringe" websites, blogs, videoblogs, etc. that are trying to CALM the mania panic about COVID, and usually they turn out to be RIGHT as well.

And the mainstream, the media, instead of the classic role they played in every disaster, both real AND Hollywood ("We don't want a panic!") now they are the purveyors of fear and panic -- they do all in their power to turn up the fear to 11, to a state of livid panic.

How things have changed!
