Bosses, be suspicious if any of your employees take a vacation/sick day, or call in sick today. Today is a special day for pot smokers, as 420 is slang for "smoking pot".
Today is 4/20/18.
-
Too late, I already called in.
-
And I happen to be working from home today! Of course at my current job I will be working from home more often than not, but still...
-
Too late for me too, I asked for a half day off a week ago, little did I know about "Smoke Pot Day"
-
Gee, I thought it was Smoke a pothead day :P.Sigh.Sorry Harry. Catch you next time. :cowboy:

Evil powers try to cut down on people smoking and drinking, but the legalization of the weed is but a reflection of the Hegelian Marxist reality replacement program. Sodomy? No problem. Lighting up in public. Hate crime! (or something just as insane)
I plan to go outside and enjoy an Ave Maria cigar :jumping2:

I see that the number is most credibly attributed to a group of 5 stoner students at San Rafael High (Marin Co., N. Calif.) way back in 1971, promoted by 1 of their group while working as a roadie for the band Grateful Dead, and popularized by the publication High Times.[†]
Uh, huh. I lived in the S.F. Bay Area for more than a dozen years, beginning late in that same decade, and I don't remember it--the slang, that is. I certainly remember my years in the SFBA, plus the fact that I never attended a concert by the very conveniently located Grateful Dead.
Today is 4/20/18.
Only when using the inside-out notation peculiar to the U.S.A., which is not only illogical but also sometimes dangerously ambiguous (e.g., expiration dates printed without any punctuation-marks on packaging for medicine).
San Rafael is more significant to Catholics as the site of "Mission San Rafael Arcángel", which was the 20th (i.e., next-to-last) of the "California Missions". The mission was founded among the Coast Miwok people of Alta California under Spanish imperial rule in 1817, thus predating Mexican rule. (Once again I digress, but with the honorable intention of adding some genuinely Catholic content to this topic.)

Interestingly, cannabinoids help prevent Alzheimer's disease
https://www.nature.com/articles/npjamd201612
Amyloid proteotoxicity initiates an inflammatory response blocked by cannabinoids
Abstract
The beta amyloid (Aβ) and other aggregating proteins in the brain increase with age and are frequently found within neurons. The mechanistic relationship between intracellular amyloid, aging and neurodegeneration is not, however, well understood. We use a proteotoxicity model based upon the inducible expression of Aβ in a human central nervous system nerve cell line to characterize a distinct form of nerve cell death caused by intracellular Aβ. It is shown that intracellular Aβ initiates a toxic inflammatory response leading to the cell's demise. Aβ induces the expression of multiple proinflammatory genes and an increase in both arachidonic acid and eicosanoids, including prostaglandins that are neuroprotective and leukotrienes that potentiate death. Cannabinoids such as tetrahydrocannabinol stimulate the removal of intraneuronal Aβ, block the inflammatory response, and are protective. Altogether these data show that there is a complex and likely autocatalytic inflammatory response within nerve cells caused by the accuмulation of intracellular Aβ, and that this early form of proteotoxicity can be blocked by the activation of cannabinoid receptors.

Believe it or not I have family members who are Traditional Catholic (some Sedevacantist some SSPX) that believe smoking marijuana is perfectly fine and that everyone against doing it is wrong for thinking so.
Cannabis oil is supposed to do all kinds of wonderful things for folks with ailments, however, in my experience, those who promote the oil seem to be promoters of smoking it as well.
I realize I am very much outnumbered in my own family peer group as most of them are all pro-marijuana, but as far as my immediate family is concerned, I would never want my children using that stuff no matter what. (I have first hand experience with what it can do to someone..there are dangerous side effects and it is highly addictive) Thankfully my husband agrees.
We did need to have conversations with our teenage children to warn them about family members.

Cannabis oil is very healthy for some extreme diseases, mostly of the nervous system. You can use the oil without getting high, if you get the kind made for medicinal purposes. Just like Morphine is ok to use in certain circuмstances. God made all plants for a reason.

I DESPISE any type of smoke...especially marijuana smoke. Tobacco smoke from cigarettes, cigars, & pipes make me nauseous and sick to my stomach and trigger a vomit reaction...especially the “skunky” type of marijuana smoked today and the rank cigarette stink of “low-cost” cigarettes. My home, my car, my EVERYTHING is smoke-free. I’m all for small government and freedom, EXECPT, when it comes to those who’s smoking addiction/habit hold me hostage while I’m choking my brains out, gasping for breath and ready to pass out. Sorry folks, I believe marijuana AND TOBACCO should be classed as schedule one illegal drugs.

I just made the whole neighborhood smell like burning leaves...
...because I lit 2 barrels of freshly trimmed brush on fire. Burning leaves smell just like pot smoke, so I guess I celebrated 4-20 day after all!
I'm sure I annoyed all my downwind neighbors.

Exactly.
If I ever get cancer, I'll try Cannabis oil, high dosage Vitamin C, and just about any alternative remedy. The only thing that's completely off the table: the highly carcinogenic (cancer-causing), profitable-for-the-cancer-industry CHEMOTHERAPY.

My dad told me that when he was a kid (around 1910) he and his siblings were sent out to pull up the stuff, which grew wild in the pasture. They didn't want the cows to eat it, since it was 'obviously' poisonous - they could tell by the way the cows staggered and lowed if they ate some. He said that it never occurred to them to eat or smoke it themselves, having seen the cows' reactions. Just an anecdote from another era...

I vote the Mary Juanita Emoticon should be restored to the options-- also the Wine & Roll Laugh.
Where is Wine emoticon.

Making tobacco illegal would only make the black market add MORE harmful things to it. If you want people to not smoke, the work is already done. Smoking rates in the last half-century have plummeted thanks to being told that smoking is really bad for you, which in turn causes cigarette taxes to go up.

Perhaps you're referring to CBD, or Canabidol? Although derived from hemp plants, it contains no THC, doesn't have any psychotropic effects, and is a very powerful anti-inflammatory. Relieves headaches, even migraines, nearly instantly, in sufficient dosage. Apparently overdosing is not possible. Not sure, though.

But it's not cheap.

While it's easy to understand why some may think marijuana is "highly addictive" (since some people like to use it to excess and daily, even), nonetheless, you will have a hard time finding any credible studies that indicate ANY chemical addiction to be a factor. If any, it would come under "psychological" addiction. That's another way of saying "habit forming," like eating ice cream, taking early morning walks in the park, or always hanging your car keys on the same hook on the wall.
.
I have a dictionary printed in 1964 that says hemp contains poisonous chemicals. But if that were true, the pot-heads that use it almost constantly should be clamoring for treatment to get free from its poisoning. Have you ever heard of that happening? Detox is for alcohol addiction (alcoholism) or drug addiction (heroin or other opiates) but not for cannabis. One undesirable side-effect of pot smoking is loss of ambition or loss of fighting spirit. So it might not be such a good idea for your soldiers whom you have to send in to fight a battle.
.
The market for CBD is steadily growing, as consumers recognize its benefits and lack of negative side-effects.

Apparently in contradiction to his anti-sovereign stance here:

I had a feeling you were one of those useless sovereign citizen types.
What a flake.

No Church Authority has ever condemned smoking Mary Juan. Three Popes have, however condemned tobacco use although these Bulls were removed by Ben XIII.

roscoe, do you use medical marijuana? liquid form in electronic cigarette-type device?
