    It's a general principle that drug use resulting in partial loss of the use of reason, without a sufficient reason, is a venial sin.
    Drug use resulting in full loss of use of reason, without a sufficient reason, would be a mortal sin.

    That includes MJ as well as alcohol.

    • Ok, since this thread got COMPLETELY derailed, I split off the last 7 pages, which are all about MJ use by Catholics, the licitness and morality thereof, into its own thread.
