Unless he was followed by Pope Williamson it really would not move me an inch. In a sense, I think a flagrant Modernist in Rome is for the best (of course, the restoration of Holy Tradition is the best, I mean while the Crisis lasts). To borrow the good Bishop's quote, 'a big split...then clarity'. The ritualist Modernism of Benedict XVI is a lot more subtle and a lot more dangerous - it's sunk a good part of the SSPX, for goodness sake!
