I hope the novus ordo smash hit, Sing a New Church, is included in that compilation

Summoned by the God who made us
Rich in our diversity,
Gathered in the name of Jesus,
Richer still in unity:

Chorus:
Let us bring the gifts that differ
And, in splendid, varied ways,
Sing a new church into being,
One of faith and love and praise

Radiant risen from the water;
Robed in holiness and light,
Male and female in God’s image
Male and female God’s delight:

Chorus
Trust the goodness of creation;
Trust the Spirit strong within.
Dare to dream the vision promised
Sprung from seed of what has been.

Chorus
Bring the hopes of every nation;
Bring the art of every race.
Weave a song of peace and justice:
Let it sound through time and space.

Chorus
Draw together at one table
All the human family;
Shape a circle ever wider
And a people ever free.

I went looking in vain on our menu for a vomit emoji.  We need one.

My folk mass favorite was "Take Our Bread." This was sung at the Offertory while the ushers would walk down the aisle for the $$(bread) collection and a couple of teens would present the bread and wine. The people in charge didn't understand why some cynical teens had problems suppressing laughter.

I can close my eyes and almost picture the felt banners, gαy vestments and 65 year old lesbian communion lady

My folk mass attendance started in '68 or so while still in grammar school. We had the felt banners. Peace signs were everywhere. Two other songs I remember that were part of the repertoire were "Blowin' in the Wind" and "If I Had a Hammer." Ï think the lesbian communion ladies started in the early 70s when I was in HS, and I stuck with the "regular" NOM. I do remember that the catalysts to start this folk thing in our parish were the nuns and a priest who was ultimately defrocked a decade down the road. On another note, I remember in 8th grade we had coed "sex education" classes led by another priest of the parish. He was also defrocked a decade down the road. When I think back on my CINO grammar & high school plus CINO college religious "education," I want to vomit. So many young souls were sadly lost.

We found this risible at the weekly student Masses at the diocesan high school I attended in the 1970s, and we made the same joke.
