It seems to be the custom at many Novus Ordo parishes to bring forth a basket of "offerings" at their "Offertory". I couldn't help but notice for the past few weeks there has been a generous amount of toilet paper rolls in the basket!!!!
Yes quite a fitting offering to lift up to Almighty God at Holy Mass.

Forgive me for posting in this forum, as I am not a teen but when I saw the topic title I had to see what this was all about.
It has only been 6 years since I last witnessed a Novus Ordo service, but I have absolutely no idea what this is talking about. Just what are people bringing things in for? Is this in place of a monetary donation, perhaps because there are many unemployed parishioners?
In any event, I think it should be pointed out that the Novus Ordo does not have an "Offertory". Their liturgical books tell us it is the "Preparation of the Gifts", that is, it is the time for their grace before supper.
