    • But you don't have to listen to me to check up on that, try the antique holy cards in French on that link I put earlier. You can learn a lot of good French that way, and useful too, rather than dull stuff like how to hail a taxi.

    I just treat it like other languages, I pick up vocab casually, and remember particular phrases.

    I did drop out of French class in high school. I don't think that really counts though since I learned nothing whatsoever. :D

    You can pick up a bit in pretty much any other language if you just treat it like English, picking up words and phrase and forgetting about picking up the grammar. I don't think a person should bother with grammar until you have enough vocab, since it's so unrewardibly painful, but my opinion about that is probably worthless since I never became any good at any at all of the languages I studied.

    You've made this mistake several times so it's worth correcting. What you wrote means "I a need of.." the correct phrasing is "j'ai besoin de..." which means literally "I have need of.." You need to put the verb avoir in there.
