  • I have friends who homeschool.  They order supplies including medals, brown wool  and sew them by hand and by sewing machine.  We are going to get together to learn.

Wonderful, but I hope you are putting metal crucifixes on them.  The Raccolta is quite specific that many blessings may only be attached to metal or metal and wood crucifixes.  I'm referring to the Apostolic Indulgence for the moment of death, the indulgences for the Stations of the Cross etc.

I'll have to get directions and info about making scapulars.
My one friend stuffs them with crucifix, miraculous medal and st Benedict medal and Holy Face medal.
May God bless you and keep you

I did not know this. My rosary has a wood and metal crucifix so I guess I am okay. But in the past I have used rosaries that were not made of metal.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • I have thought about making rosaries, but I am bothered by the thought of having someone in the NO wearing it like jewelry or something.  I can recall +Sheen talking about the rosary.  He was commenting about how the heathens adopt things from us when we abandon them.  He said, "when catholics stopped praying the rosary, hippies began wearing them around their necks".  Even the whelps eat the crumbs that fall from the masters table.  I am bothered by the possibility of having one of my rosaries fall into the wrong hands(someone praying the faustina divine mercy perhaps).  So, I am hesitant.

Rotary cutters and self-healing mats are not cheap. I would make sure it's something you really want to do. All of the big box craft stores usually have a 40% off coupon circulating for items not on sale.

This is where faith comes into play.
You make the rosary or scapular in all humility and reverence.  Don't spoil your intention with pride.
Have faith that God through our Blessed Mother will supply graces to the recipient.

The nuns had a saying when I was in school.  "Do good and disappear"
In other words, .....  do your part and leave the rest to God>

  • With the Pope visiting DC, NY and Philly it was really the perfect time to reach out to people about the true Catholic faith and Mass.
