When I first went to the SSPX one of the regulars asked me for my first and last name, and my phone number. He did not tell me his own last name. He asked me for my address but did not tell me his own.
I was reluctant to give out this info, although it has not been misused, because I can easily foresee the event of some religious diehard, with his own theological slant on the crisis, publishing my name on the internet along with my home address, and therefore opening me up to identity theft and black mail and all sorts of trouble. It has happened to me before when I was involved in a political group. My photo was published along with death threats and people starting youtube channels about me telling me to kill myself. I went to the police and would do the same thing if it happened again. The last time the people who did it were anonymous cowards, but this time I know who has my details. One never knows who you can trust, and to build trust takes time. I did not see why this info about me was needed, although those who have my name seem to be devout Catholics who are eager to help.
My advice is, if it is not on the internet already, dont put it online. The photo of myself i published was from the side, so you would not know it was me if you saw me.
Anyway, I dont see why people ought to publish their name on this forum.
Also if you think the secret service doesnt know who you are or is not building a complete psychological profile on you, you are fooling yourself. Our enemies stalk forums like this to gather information on us.
