I think everyone gets 100% even if they choose a wrong answer.

I was honest and chose only the correct answers. If you attend a Latin Mass you should get 100?% with no problems.

    What score did you get?

    Lord have mercy.

  • Is the black Nun Whoopi Goldburg? Playing a Nun in the Sister Act.

Glad I never wasted any of my money to watch this sacrilegious film.

    Yes, that is Whoopi Goldberg.

And yes, the movie was sacrilegious. It was obviously Hollywood's effort to "educate" Catholics to become more modern and "with it." Cardinal Mahony probably gave some technical help to further their agenda. I do not know if the new Archbishop o Los Angeles is any better.

Some of my Novus Ordo Catholic friends say that the Mass Revolution goes on and that they have walked out because of the lack of respect shown by priests for anything holy. It gets so bad that they will attend a Latin Mass for a few weeks only to be drawn back to the NO by a priest who tells them to "get with it."
    Lord have mercy.

Hey, could you please post the full quote from Father that is partially posted in your signature.

  • Back in the 1960's before the introduction of the new mass, the only prayers
that the Priest said in Latin were the offertory prayers.
The Mass I served was in the Dominican Rite at St Dominic's Church in
    Washington, DC.
At the presentation of the water and the wine. I was required to repeat
as an Altar Boy these three Latin Words: Bene Dici Te or Bless these Gifts.
I started out in 1956 in an all Latin Mass, than in the First Sunday of
Advent of 1964 the changes were starting.
I never served the New Mass.

Sure, it's one of my favorites:

"The Church is intolerant in principle because she believes; she is tolerant in practice because she loves. The enemies of the Church are tolerant in principle because they do not believe; they are intolerant in practice because they do not love." - Fr. Réginald Marie Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P.

benedicite is the imperative of the verb "to bless." A better translation might be, "give the blessing."

  • This was an easy entry level A... so I took it over this time with all the wrong answers and check out their cute little commentary (emphasis mine):

    Quote from: Latin Quiz
    You're a Roamin' Catholic!

For a time, you were all about that Catholic life, but now you've gone and forgotten all of those Latin words you spent hours trying to memorize. You've found a new path and it involves all of the things Catholic school tried to rid you of including: meat on Fridays during Lent, the explicit music that you love and skirts that that don't touch your knees. These days you're an all out former Catholic school kid. The best type to be! Nice try!

    Fortuna finem habet.
