  • If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Here is another Gulabi Goat from Pakistan. He doesn't look so bad.

But this one has a huge funny nose, but perhaps the one above is still quite young, and will develop that nose in a year or two.

    Lord have mercy.

  • We may think this is funny, but that cat is bothered. Notice its tail and its flattened ears.
Never pick up a cat when it is wagging its tail side to side.
    Lord have mercy.

  • Yes, that is exactly what my brother would do.
My mom said that the first one to clean their rooms would get the last piece of apple pie. While we were busy cleaning our rooms, sorting the laundry from the toys, etc, everything was already under the bed in his room, so he was busy devouring that pie. That trick only worked once as the girls cried foul.
    Lord have mercy.

The funniest part of this goat to me isn't his nose, but that his ear is draped over his right horn.
Like, "I have no idea why this keeps happening to me."

As far as he was concerned, the one time it worked was worth it.  And, yes, the siblings will expose one another for cheating.  Kids can be incredibly clever, which is why they must be watched at all times.  Now the problem is when there's collusion so that they don't expose one another ... or else they blackmail each other into keeping silent by threatening to expose some other misdeed.  Ah, yes, the marvels of Original Sin.

My 10-year-old son tries to avoid showering by running the water while he just sits there on the closed toilet.  Would have worked except that he'd come out looking and smelling just as dirty as when he went in.  So now my wife touches his hair and smells him as he gets out.  Smell will usually give him away.  And he sat there as long as it would have taken just to do the job right ... so that it wasn't even about saving time, but about being lazy.

  • My biggest issue is with the youngest ones breaking the 8th commandment and bearing false witness.  They try to frame their siblings for something to get back them.  But I have slowed that down a lot by never believing a report of theirs (even though secretly I'll investigate and can usually outwit them and get to the truth of it) to deter unsubstantiated allegations.  I cross-examine both their versions of the story until one slips up and contradicts himself (which they eventually will do if they're lying).  One time, and this was an easy one, a younger sibling wrote the older sibling's name on the wall in crayon ... to get him in trouble.  But her handwriting gave her away.  She made her "i" with a big circle on top so that it looked like a lollipop.  When two kids are fighting and both are blaming the other party for having "started it", I usually punish them both.  I told them that because both have been dishonest in the past, I can't believe either one, so both get in trouble (since fighting usually requires two to participate).  So that actually has inspired them to be more truthful over time in order to establish their credibility.
