I like this one a lot -- funny because it's true!
There are hundreds of other examples we could find, proving that the average man is dumber today than he was in 1950 -- even more dramatic when comparing today's man with the average man of 1870. Just read the books from those times.
What passes for literature today is laughable. Every single "Catholic" book that comes out, not to mention secular works, has to essentially have two titles: the title itself and then a subtitle summarizing the book with some flashy cover art. And then the book itself is less than 200-250 pages and really consists of nothing better than what an undergraduate could write.

I realized pretty quick just how much people today over-estimate their own intelligence. Just look at the idiots running companies and nations and you can tell that we are far beyond the age of a Charlemagne or a Caesar.

I don't know about this.  Perhaps you're not looking at the right "Catholic" books.  Try this one:

That is not to say that there aren't books that don't do this. But, most of the recommended books on the link you provided do adhere to this title-subtitle practice:

The Catholic Manbook?  Is this serious?  None of these books, even by their titles and authors, sound remotely Catholic.

Hence why I originally said "Catholic" instead of Catholic.  :laugh1:
