Sadly I don't have one. I was introduced to Pio IX by don Francesco Ricossa who was my priest when I was in Italy. Wonderful priest. He gave regular conferences and one was on Pius IX's teachings.

P.S. On searching for don Ricossa and the Mater Boni Consilii Institute I came across this one.

Nice!
I’m guessing he was posturing for Our Lady’s Triumph , when she crushes Babylon and it’s evil seed.

Agreed.
The more I read about Leo XIII though (he who made Newman a cardinal), the less I like him (despite his great encyclicals). In particular, he allowed and encouraged Catholic representatives at one of the first ecuмenical events in America in the late 1800s and was "personally sympathetic" to Americanism, despite his condemnation of it.
Pls give source for the allegation that Pius IX didn't trust Card Newman
