Just a couple of thoughts on dogs.

1.   I cannot understand why people feel the need to dress dogs. If you put a coat on a dog you are actually causing his fur to remain short, whereas if a dog is exposed to the cold his fur will grow as a cold-defence mechanism.
2.   Roland, I can thoroughly sympathise with you on yappy dogs. Probably the owners leave the poor thing at home alone and scared out of its wits, ‘cause it’s too small to defend itself or anything else. I suggest keeping a container of water near the fence and when he starts up throw a cup of water on him. It worked for us. Now all we have to do is open the door and the dog runs for cover and is quiet.
3.   You call the dog the Rat, because that is what it looks like. I know the type you mean, so small they are just an excuse for a dog.
4.   Dogs have come to take the place of children. It’s such a sick world. Can’t blame the dogs for that.

Just in case that first point was directed at me:

I would hardly call him "dressed" in that picture.  What I did was wrap a blanket around him and tie a knot in it.  He wore it long enough to get his picture taken and then tossed it off.  

I say this because I, too, don't like to see dogs "dressed."  I would not call him dressed there.

I completely understand about small, yappy dogs. I can't stand them.  I also can't stand how many people basically worship them.  I do really like dogs but I think some people take it too far by donating money to animal causes, excessively rescuing them when they should just be put down and just placing them on a pedestal in general.

No, I didn't mean to direct that comment at you, Mythrandylan. Though your very cute dog, made me think about all the dogs that I see on the street that are "dressed". It really irks me. As I said in point 4, it's related to the child-substitutes that dogs and cats have become. I goes completely against any common sense. As the Religion of Man grows, man becomes ever more stupid and animals are treated ever more "human".

and carrying them in purses like a fashion accessory or a child.....geesh.....
