Jesuit academic father Frank Brennan, CEO of Catholic Social Services Australia has been banned from speaking publicly in the Hobart Archdiocese for his defence of Catholics' rights to voice their own opinions according to their conscience with regard to same-sex marriage. Father Brennan was banned from attending already advertised speaking events by Hobart Archbishop Julian Porteous in a letter to the provincial of Jesuit Order. Hobart's Archdiocese told Sky News 'correspondence between the Catholic Archbishop of Hobart and the heads of religious orders is confidential correspondence.' Julian Porteous took a hard line stance against same-sex marriage.

Trendy political correctness is not a heresy. He is not however refusing the council or its heresies and errors, that is what is classified as true resistance.

He's not a resisting bishop in any way. Banning a dissident priest from speaking is called... being a bishop. It would be news if he didn't.
