  • Is this worth starting a new thread? Yes "people" are so stupid.

  • These people are literally as stupid as a 3 year old child.

"I'll trade you your piece of paper ($10 bill) for this fresh, delicious ice cream cone!"

10 out of 10 tots would make that deal, not understanding the value of money. (For those in California, I have to point out that $10 is NOT the going rate for an ice cream cone in most of the country. I think you can get a good Baskin-Robbins one for $3, and that's highly overpriced in my opinion. We only buy ice cream from the grocery store, but I digress.)

These people are seriously ignorant, and this will not end well. In the upcoming collapse of the US Dollar (which is BOUND to happen), with 90% of people preferring fiat currency over even cheap gold, they will learn a hard lesson. Their precious $20 will be toilet paper.

These uneducated ignoramuses don't know how many times fiat currency has gone to ZERO (or sometimes just lost 99.9% of its value) overnight JUST IN THE PAST CENTURY.
Meanwhile, how many times did people see gold and/or silver on the ground, with no one bothering to pick it up it was so worthless? NEVER.

Well, I was going to make a joke about the fact that well, this is in the US, and 2, it's in California. Neither would bode well on the IQ front for many things, but anyway...If there was a way for an American to convince himself that ripping a dollar bill in half actually increased the value of it to $2? Well, that's the level of stupid I think the average American is. The fact that someone else actually used the word stupid just made my point a lot easier.

LOL. But back to the coin...Not only would I immediately hear the world "gold" and perk up my ears, I would ask if I could take a peek at the coin. If he said, "No," then I would know it is more than likely real. If he agreed, then it would probably be fake.

Either way, the fact it is Canadian would be a bonus. I would take the coin in a heartbeat, take it in to see how much it was worth at the coin shop, and then turn around and sell it.

Then I might try changing my hair and clothes to see if walking around the block a few times would give me a second offer for a second gold coin. LOL. He may or may not recognize me, but I don't believe there would be any harm or sin in trying.

But knowing me, if he didn't? I would give him back the second gold coin and say, "Hey, it's me. Thanks so much for the first one, please donate this one to charity."

I have run after people on the street if I see them dropping a quarter.

Oh, but Biden needs his ice cream! He cannot be deprived. He wikes banilla and chocwit.

Gee whiz, $3. for BR ice-cream? What a steal! Our little ice cream shop sells 2 scoops of ice cream in a basic cone, for almost $6.00
An ice cream treat from a gas station is never less than about $3.50 now.

Actually I was just remembering how an old bar had wallpapered the inside of their bathroom with a collage of old newspaper clippings, cartoons, and so on. There was one spot that was heavily ripped and torn and picked-at. It was a print out of money, and people actually thought the bills were real.

The bills were not, of course, but just good fakes. But it did not stop people trying to peel the "money" off the wall in the bathroom. And I am trying desperately to remember where it was--best guess it was a London pub/restaurant.

The idea itself was clever, and it was a tiny space, but they must have tired of repairing it, if in fact they did.

This is one of the funniest threads going at the moment. It is a relatively light topic compared to the average negative and bizarro-world stuff people obsess about here. That's O-B-S-E-S-S about.

I gave the man a thumbs up.

  • I find it implausible that he didn't find a single person who took the gold coin.  Odds are he'd find someone who knew the value of gold.  What would have happened to his video had the first person taken the gold coin?  Would he have bought another one and kept trying?  My feeling is that if someone asked for the gold coin, he probably just gave them a little extra cash ... saying something (before the cameras were rolling) that he wouldn't actually give them the gold coin, probably something like, "Hey, you can make a few bucks if you agree to go on camera and answer which one you WOULD take if I were to give it to you."
