Vienna : Faced with gαy Pride, they display the Sacred Heart
On the day of the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Vienna, young Catholics gathered before the Burgtheater, on the Ringstrasse, under the motto “Vienna belongs to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.” In this month of intense L***QXYZ propaganda, about twenty young Catholic activists have expressed their support in the heart of the city. For twenty minutes, they remained united in silence, holding up a large, impressive banner decorated with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Their action was aimed at publicly calling for devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus; on the other hand, they deliberately set a precedent in June, a month that, in the contemporary Western world, is largely dedicated to far-left groups.
In the spring of 1796, in front of the Napoleonic troops, the Tyroleans dedicated their land to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. During these fateful days, Abbot Sebastian Stöckl of the Abbey of Stams proposed to the Tyrolean States to entrust the Tyrol to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On June 1, 1796, the Tyrolean states unanimously made their solemn vow to dedicate Tyrol to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Thanks to this pact, the Tyrolean militia received an exceptionally large influx of volunteers to fight Napoleonic troops.
This link is maintained, at least symbolically by traditionalist groups, until today thanks to the fires of the Sacred Heart lit each year in the Tyrolean mountains on the weekend of June 12. In the past, the flames served as a signal to mobilize the militia. Even today, the “Flames of the Sacred Heart” or the inscription “IHS” shine on the peaks of the Tyrolean valleys, commemorating the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The influence and importance of this devotion continued to grow in the following decades, even to the heart of the universal Church and the state order. Pope Leo XIII saw in the Sacred Heart of Jesus the remedy for a world in the grip of a growing secularization and dedicated all humanity to the Heart of Jesus in 1899. Also in Austria, the protection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was invoked in difficult times: during the devastating battles and troubles of the First World War, Emperor Franz Joseph I solemnly dedicated the entire Austro-Hungarian monarchy to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1915, imploring the protection of his people.
It is precisely this idea of a profession of public faith that young Catholics wish to develop through their action in the Austrian capital.
The choice of the venue for this event was not left to chance. The Burgtheater is located just in front of the Vienna Town Hall, in front of which the “Pride Villαge” is located in anticipation of the Gαy Pr!de.
