  •   First week. 13 & 14. (This also applies to the neo sspx and Rome discussions)

"The enemy also behaves like a false lover who wishes to remain hidden and does not want to be revealed.  (The more people that know about Bishop Williamson being expeled the more resistance) For when this deceitful man pays court, with evil intent, to the daughter of some good father or the wife of a good husband, he wants his words and suggestions to be kept secret. He is greatly displeased if the girl reveals to her father, or the wife to her husband, his deceitful words and depraved intentions, for he then clearly sees that his plans cannot succeed. In like manner, when the enemy of our human nature tempts a just soul with his wiles and deceits, he wishes and desires that they be received and kept in secret. When they are revealed to a confessor or some other spiritual person who understands his deceits and evil designs, the enemy is greatly displeased for he knows that he cannot succeed in his evil design once his obvious deceits have been discovered.

The enemy's behavior is also like that of a military leader who wishes to conquer and plunder the object of his desires (the SSPX). Just as the commander of an army pitches his camp, studies the strength and defenses of a fortress (the SSPX), and then attacks it on its weakest side (Bishop Fellay), in like manner, the enemy of our human naure studies from all sides our theological, cardinal, and moral virtues. Wherever he finds us weakest and most in need (lack of solid Catholic leadership from the head of the SSPX) regarding our eternal salvation, he attacks and tries to take us by storm"

  • perhaps they have made an error by this silence at BW's expulsion....  it is certaintly worthy of mention, and the fact they chose not speak of it, must be of concern, even to those in favor of an agreement, at the very least,  its a callous way to treat a brother Bishop....

  • The fact that there is so much more to think about by reading threads like this
in CI, than you get at the local SSPX parish in the sermon, speaks volumes.

Thanks, sspxbvm, food for thought, indeed..................    :scratchchin:

  • Mindful of the words of G.K.Chesterton, "we have not spoken yet.". The great Irish Catholic patriot, P.H. Pearse wrote "And I say to my people's masters: Beware, Beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people, Who shall take what ye would not give. Did ye think to conquer the people, Or that Law is stronger than life and than men's desire to be free? We will try it out with you, ye that have harried and held, Ye that have bullied and bribed, tyrants, hypocrites, liars!""

Youth Defence, the Irish pro-life group were once called the 'Catholic Taliban' in a rag of a newspaper. Now, if you think YD are the 'Catholic Taliban', "You ain't seen nothing yet".

"Only you do not know us. For we have not spoken yet."

  • Maybe so many people saw it coming, absorbed it, accepted it and have forgotten it. It is not such a shock. Menzingen has played it according to plan, isolated the bishops, 'unified the appointees' to the point of dumbness and prepared the laity for a 'painful decision'. Now, business as usual .....
