In this video at around 22 minutes Fr. Pfeiffer claims Ridgefield has lost 100-200 faithful to the indult and Post Falls 300 to the indult.


On the other side of the coin, from my observations, since the lifting of the excommunications I see the new people coming to mass are Novus Ordo types that want the SSPX to be regularized so they can come without reservations to the SSPX mass. They come because our high mass service is well orchestrated, and it is the closest most convenient Latin Mass.

Therefore, the faithful leaving the SSPX for the indult, may be offset by the Novus Ordos and indulters coming from outside of the SSPX. As far as who loses people, the SSPX or the Indult mass centers, it will all depend on who is more of a convenient drive for the population centers. And who has the prettiest church, prettiest mass, the best breakfast, the most after mass recreation (basketball tennis volleyball courts, swimming pools, parks, etc.). Just like the Protestants they will have to compete to get the clientele.

If the sermons (doctrines being taught) are the same why would any accordista favor the SSPX over any indult mass?

The pro-accord "SSPXers" think that it will increase the attendance by "legitimizing" themselves, but the other side of the coin is that they will loose the people they have to the indult mass and the Resistance. They will become salt without flavor.

The SSPX is in the process of possibly becoming compromised. The indult is already compromised. So the SSPX is still better than the indult until there is an agreement with modernist Rome because it is only partially compromised and not fully compromised. It is still in a troubling position.

I'm sure other Irish folk might disagree but I offer a mere opinion. I can't say I like 'Alive' newspaper or 'Catholic Voice' newspaper being promoted at SSPX chapels in Ireland. I was accosted a few times after Mass by well intentioned folk promoting those rags. What is interesting about 'Catholic Voice' is it advertises all Latin Masses in Ireland with exception of SSPX. An irony that is lost on the folk promoting it outside the SSPX.

What amazed me though is those promoting The Recusant were asked to be discreet  by SSPX clerics.

People can get "ratty" about things in Ireland. One girl I know attends both Indult and SSPX but prefers to be regarded as a SSPX goer.

Because Tradition is so small here there is a tendency to frequent both. Once a person is getting the Latin Mass, they don't make an issue of where they attend.

Extreme Indult types generally disregard Bishop Williamson and others as the "lunatic fringe".

Many are waiting for the SSPX to be reconciled and come home to Rome.

     We lost a good number of our people to the indult because Father was saying two Masses at the other chapel  and our Mass which was in the morning was moved to four o'clock. Also, people thought his sermons were too long. They were long BUT BOY WERE THEY FANTASTIC!!!!!! Father was a great blessing from God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  May God bless him and keep him!

In Ireland in the Novus Ordo, there is a tendency for some to go to where the priest  says a "quick Mass" and sermon.

Naturally places like the United States have greater options regarding the Traditional Mass. Smaller countries have Indult structures or the SSPX.
