Menzingen is employing Vatican II-type tactics.

These following slogans have been used effectively in the NewChurch to control the population and to keep them captive:

1. Do not try to be holier than the Pope.

2. If you do not work with us, you are working against us.

3. If you are not part of the solution, you become part of the problem.

4. If you leave, you become part of the problem.

5. If you leave the Pope and his Bishops, who are the representatives of Christ, you have lost your salvation, and you will burn in Hell.

I forgot to add:

6. If you do not support the parish by beautifying the church and church grounds, then we may remove the priest and sell the parish.

7. If you do beautify the parish and put the title of the church property in the Bishop's name, then we may sell it to pay for (fill in the blank): court ordered sex offender restitution, diocesan bills, a new seminary, a new cemetery, a new castle-monastery, etc.

8. With the priest shortage, you may never get another priest to come to your parish unless you pay off the mortgage, put the title of the church property in the Bishop's name, and beautify the grounds (see 6 & 7).

9. Never question the priest about parish finances, nor the bishop about diocesan business as that is none of your business.

10. The way to sanctity is to keep your head down, be obedient to your priests and the bishop, observe silence, mind your own business, and pay for the support of Rome and her clergy.

Would there be any way of getting a "100 words or less" summary of the original article?  It reads like a machine translation (because it is) and French is not exactly a terse, concise language.  It's kind of convoluted and hard to understand the points being made.

The OP is saying that Menzingen’s heavy-handed enforcement of the ralliement (eg., expulsions; trials; transfers) did not paint them in a good light, so Menzingen now (that integration into the conciliar church is all but complete, and even exposes like the CCCC thread no longer threaten the Society from achieving that goal) allows the remaining priests to “constructively criticize” the ralliement.

This preserves the new branded image, and avoids sending soldiers to the Resistance.

Most SSPX priests then, given this latitude, start to become content, deluding themselves that, because they can still make mild criticism, they personally have not compromised (even as the whole ship is moored to the conciliar dock).

In other words, Menzingen got smarter.
