Someone in another thread I can't find now, brought up this foundational point: The question that needs to be asked to anyone that attends an SSPX chapel is; "Why do you come here?".
That is not just a question for today, with all of the turmoil going on, but a question for always, from the beginnings of the SSPX till the end of the SSPX.
Good question to ask. I wonder what the answers will be?
From my experience, the typical SSPXers of today are ignorant about the faith. However, this simple question is one that can be answered by anyone, and will tell you everything. It is foundational.
Or, you could ask the question like Fr. Rostand and ask, "If you don't trust us, why do you come to our sacraments?"
I replied, "We don't have much of a choice."
I came to Saint Michael's before the SSPX was at our Church, and I come for three reasons, as Archbishop Lefebvre aptly put it, "The Faith, the Faith, and the Faith." Father Bolduc kept that Faith at the forefront of everything. The sermons now, are all about "charity" and "obedience" and "meditation."
We need priests that are going to keep the Faith at the forefront of their sermons. That is what is under attack, and what is the most important thing in our lives, because it is our salvation that hinges on the Faith.
