On March 19, 2014 he wrote a letter to his superior, Fr. de Caqueray, saying he was going to leave the SSPX the next day and open a home for "isolated and disaffected priests".

On July 15, 2014 at Aville, France, L'Union Sacerdotale Marcel Lefebvre was founded, and Fr. de Merode was elected or assigned to be the coordinator for France.

On August 29, 2014, Fr. de Merode resigned as the coordinator, but was listed as one of the 5 priests in charge of the 5 "zones" in France for the Resistance.

But looking at the website today, we can see that France is divided now into only 4 zones, and Fr. de Merode is missing from the website's list altogether.

Has Fr. de Merode resigned from the Resistance now, too?

Where is he now, and what he is doing?

I heard that Fr de Merode is in Lourdes and he has there a little chapel... but he does not take care of the south west of France. It is Fr Rioult.

Thank you. That may answer where he is, but is he still associated with the Resistance or not, and what is his present work? Is he simply independent now?
