What what is going on right now ... I can only imagine that the collapse and an official sellout of the Society would give a terrible blow to Catholic Tradition all over the world.

  • This is a great question.  I'd like to believe there will be an exodus of people into the Resistance but I fear that the Fellaybots will choose to be homealoners rather than join the Resistance.  I still feel that most will go along to get along

Hopefully there will be more priests join the Resistance which will reassure the faithful and bring legitimacy to the Resistance.

  • I think a lot of SSPX priests and laity will leave the SSPX and join the resistance or one of the other trad groups, or stay home alone.

  • Did I miss something?  I thought the three remaining bishops officially renounced all dealings with joining Rome until they renounce their heresies and return to the Catholic faith???

Is there still a deal being worked???

  • There likely will be no deal as long as Francis is in charge of the conciliar church.

Should the Neo-SSPX ever sell out to Rome, I do think many people would depart.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

Please see paragraph #11 of their declaration.

It proclaims the mere guarantee of the right to publicly criticize the errors of Vatican 2 will suffice for hammering out a merely practical accord.

This, plus the 6 limp conditions from the 2012 general chapter are supposed to make us feel safe and secure.

Kind of like a paper mâché bomb shelter.

  • Though the possibility exists, I don't think that a reconciliation on any terms is probable in the foreseeable future.

  • Hegalian dialectics are being used

    Two steps forward  (the declaration)
one step back( let the resistence surface and note them)
Damage control (brainwashing and threats on the people)
(People  and priests accept, or they are expelled)

The process continues until all known  dissenters are expelled and the people are sold on the deal.  Spies are used to find some secret dissenters.
Then 2 steps forward again (deal with Rome)

    Then the process is repeated

Purge Purge Purge!   Sound like Russia?  It is.
Thank God all trad groups do not do this.

  • I say that Bishop Fellay will be auxillary Bishop over the VA seminary and will teach them to take on the ancient rite (mess) that is latin but no words of consecration.

Most people will stay put, just like all the other traditionalists who have now become comfortable, compromised, and complacent.  A body at rest tends to stay at rest.
     :jumping2:
Pray that those in the Resistance stay on their toes.  A body in motion tends to stay in motion.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • The " smells and bells crowd" won't care...or they'll approve of it and keep coming..but they've already sold out in their hearts and minds...only the signature is missing...the pen is in hand..

A good and fair analysis by Frances. The resistance will be the few and not the many.

  • I believe that will never happen.

I think that, since the antichrist rome tries to destroy any institution defending the Catholic Tradition, it will not allow an agreement with Bp. Fellay.  Obviously, the current situation is damaging the SSPX more than a sell out.

This may not sound logical, but look at how much damage the current situation is causing: there is not (yet) an agreement and the Society is divided.  Those who oppose Bp. Fellay's betrayal are divided as well.  Inside the neo-SSPX are divisions too, but they are not easily visible (yet).  It is known that some priests do not agree with Bp. Fellay's politics, but they have not decided to openly act against the superior general.

If an agreement were reached now, I think many priests would leave the Society and many lay faithful would follow them.  But if the agreement is delayed a few years, then the number would decrease.  That's what I think.

  • I don't "like" Adolphus' post, but I think he's right.  The devil is much more patient than any of us.  Take heart!  We already know the outcome.Christ wins, Satan loses.
