One has the feeling that Fr. Pfluger does not like traditionalists and envies the indult laity for their lightness and concern for Catholic culture rather than theology. He suggests the Church is in a state of flux and trads are missing out by not being involved in any exciting outcome. His focus on 'the young' to save the day may contain some logic but it has to be remembered it was the young after V2 that put into effect the conciliar changes. He will no doubt be using his young seminarians to do the same inside the Society whether the sidelined laity and older priests like it or not.
Rewriting the SSPX, particularly the life of ABL, has to be the task of the Swiss duo as they assume a pivotal role in softening the hearts of the remnant and making it tolerant of the mainstream. Menzingen will say of course that the Society has always tried to contain the hardline reaction to the new order and not cut itself off from Rome totally. This is true to some extent but the current reinvention of the Society is now all about making war on the remnant and its fundamental positions.
